Welcome! With 14 years of experience in the working world under my belt, I’ve noticed that I seem to have a history of achieving superstar status in every position I’ve held. I don’t say this to brag, although looking back I am proud of my success. I say this because I’ve slowly come to realize that not everyone approaches their job like I do, and that perhaps I have some wisdom to share. I’ve seen others struggle to build their reputation as a key employee, only to be undervalued and unnoticed.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an executive. I’m not making six figures a year. I don’t have it all figured out and I still make mistakes. But what I do have is respect from my co-workers at every level. I do have job security and satisfaction. I go to work every day knowing that my contribution makes a difference, no matter what I’m doing. I know that in the long run working the way that I do will pay off!
It’s funny I didn’t even realize I had a philosophy on how to do things at work. To me, it was just how I naturally did things. It wasn’t thought out or planned. I didn’t learn it from a book or in school. Some things cannot be taught: work ethic, honesty, common sense; but some things can and that’s what I want to try to do!
